You're here because you’re ready for something different

You're tired of just talking about the problem and you don’t want to feel stuck anymore. You’ve searched the internet for coping skills but can’t seem to use them regularly. Even when you do, you still feel on edge, unsafe, and overwhelmed.

You know you need something more, but don’t know where to start.

you’re in the right spot.

How I work

I believe with my whole heart that every human already has the capacity for healing within.

My mental health journey began in middle school, when I began seeing a therapist for anxiety and depression. Based on my own experiences I became passionate about helping others.

Beginning in college, while pursuing an undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Maryland, I worked in a variety of treatment and social services settings. I started to recognize that while trauma is a universal experience, receiving high quality treatment that leads to lasting relief is not. I then went on to receive my Masters in Social Work from George Mason University, and through this work I solidified my belief that healing requires more than talking.

I have since received extensive training in clinical approaches that acknowledge the individual, relational and systemic factors that shape us. By acknowledging the impact at every level, I help you make sense of your experience in a broader context in order to build self compassion, and give you a sense of control over what your life looks like.

I love being able to blend my training in practices such as EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, Psychodrama and Ego State Therapy in ways that fit each unique individual the best. Added to my expertise in early attachment and preverbal trauma, relational and sexual trauma, I have been able to help hundreds of people regain a sense of power and find relief that lasts.

Additionally, I am an EMDRIA certified clinician and consultant in training. I offer case consultation for EMDR and other experiential modalities for complex trauma treatment as well as consultation for those working towards EMDRIA certification. I practice from a whole-brain, trauma sensitive and attachment focused lens and can support you in navigating complex cases and deepening your clinical skills.

Storytelling is the essential human activity. The harder the situation, the more essential it is.

in therapy with me…

We’ll use the whole brain.

Using multiple experiential approaches to trauma treatment, we will be able to engage the parts of the brain where trauma is stored, healing your nervous system and helping you achieve your goals faster than traditional talk therapy.

You’ll get more than coping skills.

Using a trauma informed lens, I understand that coping skills aren’t enough. By exploring how your early experiences of attachment impact your patterns and struggles, I help you create an internal shift that allows for lasting change.

I know behaviors make sense.

Part of the human experience is learning behaviors that allow us to get more of our needs met, even if those same behaviors don’t help us in the long run. Using this affirming perspective, I help you move past shame and towards self compassion, empowering you to make choices that will serve you better in the here and now.
